South Norway : ウィキペディア英語版 | South Norway South Norway (nor: ''Sør-Norge'', n.sam: ''Lulli-Norga'') is the southern third of Norway, consisting of the regions Vestlandet, Østlandet and Sørlandet. South Norway has no administrative functions, and does not constitute a cultural or linguistic region - as opposed to Central Norway/Trøndelag and particularly North Norway. To people from the latter region in particular, citizens hailing from the southern third are known as "søringer" (southerners). The inhabitants themselves, however, have no common "southern" identity. Rather, they identify with the regions they are from and call themselves "vestlendinger", "østlendinger" and "sørlendinger". South Norway must not be confused with Sørlandet, the region which name - when literally translated - means ''the South Country''.
